Summary/Objective:
The Receiving Supervisor oversees all inbound warehouse operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient receipt of products, materials, and supplies. This role supervises the receiving team, maintains compliance with company policies and safety regulations, and works closely with inventory control, shipping, and purchasing departments to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager but is responsible for the department when is not present.
Essential Functions:
Assist product receiving by unloading trucks, checking merchandise in, and matching purchase orders to sales orders to receiving documents.
Ensure inbound shipments are accurate, properly documented, and free of damage.
Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to designated areas.
Operate a forklift or hand truck to move or hoist materials to their proper work area.
Complete daily receiving entries in WMS system.
Write routine reports and correspondence, maintain documentation, and communicate discrepancies as needed.
Optimize space usage by re-arranging products physically and systematically.
Ensure proper use, safety, and efficiency of material handling equipment and operation.
Maintain a safe and organized receiving area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
Examine work for accuracy, neatness, and adherence to policies and procedures.
Assist the Operations Manager by identifying work procedures, training staff, and expediting workflow.
Other duties assigned as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
3–5 years of warehouse experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP, or inventory software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willing to learn other software programs if needed.
Accountable, responsible, and goal oriented.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Strong leadership, communication, and attention to detail to ensure quality of work.
Required to stand, walk and use hands for a long period of time throughout the day (must be able to lift product to 50 pounds) and work in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Range: $50,000 - $75,000 annually
