Business Development Coordinator

Department: Dairy, Deli & Gourmet
Location: Elizabeth, NJ

Gellert Global Group is one of the largest family-owned food importers in the US servicing all channels of the food industry with products from around the world. We import and distribute premium specialty food brands including gourmet olive oils, vinegars, mustards, cheese and pastas. Our products are distributed nationally in retail stores and restaurants that focus on premium, high quality food products.

Summary/Objective:

As a Business Development Coordinator specializing in food specialty items, you will assist in identifying new market opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and driving growth for our portfolio of gourmet and specialty food products.

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, market demands, and competitive landscape in the food specialty sector.
  • Analyze customer preferences, industry developments, and potential growth areas to guide strategic decisions.
  • Address client inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of sales and marketing strategies to promote specialty food products.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, product presentations, and advertising campaigns.
  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of projects, ensuring they align with company goals and timelines.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to management.
  • Track and analyze sales data, market trends, and business performance metrics.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with internal and external teams to ensure alignment between business development efforts and operational capabilities.
  • Facilitate communication between departments to support successful product launches and client fulfillment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or food related field
  • 0-2 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the food industry, preferred
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel, when necessary.
  • Passion for food
